Normal sudoku rules apply. In some rows/columns there are extra clues (one at each end) outside the grid. One of these clues gives the sum of the digits sandwiched between the 1 and the 9 in that row/column. The other clue gives the sum of the digits sandwiched between the 5 and 7 in that row/column.
